Modalities of our Portuguese interpreting

Portuguesetranslation.org offers several types of Portuguese interpreting.My modalities include simultaneous, consecutive, conference interpreting, escort and public service interpreting.

Simultaneous interpreting

In simultaneous interpreting, our interpreters speak while the source-speech speaker is still speaking. This service is sometimes referred to as "simultaneous translation" and the interpreter referred to as the "translator". Of course, simultaneous interpreting is not strictly "simultaneous" Unless when the interpreter anticipates correctly, there is always a slight time lag.

Consecutive interpreting

In our consecutive interpreting, the interpreter is normally situated alongside the speaker, listening and taking notes as the speech progresses. When the speaker has finished or comes to a pause, the Portuguese interpreter speaks the message in the target language, as though he or she were making the original speech.

Conference interpreting

Conference interpreting is simply interpreting in a conference environment. Our conference interpreting may be simultaneous or consecutive.

Escort interpreting

In our escort interpreting service, an interpreter accompanies a person or a delegation on a tour, on a visit, or to a meeting or interview.
